9 activations across 7 stores, March to July 2026. Turning Google's AI into something people can walk into, touch, and take home. Every event in this series put a custom Gemini Gem at its center - mixing drinks, running trivia, shooting headshots, generating trading cards, planning bike routes. The premise held across a music festival, a marathon, a Pride concert, an All-Star weekend, and Comic-Con: when AI is the thing you do rather than the thing you're shown, people stay longer, engage deeper, and buy more.
Google Store Oakbrook · WNBA All-Star Weekend · July 2026 Producer with 1000heads
Triple-digit lift in Pixel transactions
875 store visitors, more than double the previous Saturday
500 branded giveaways
Concept: Google's marquee "Hoop Dreams" activation owned WNBA All-Star weekend - but only for the people who could get in. Gemini Game Time extended that moment into the Oakbrook store and opened it to everyone. Guests shot hoops in a competitive in-store shootout, ran WNBA trivia through a custom Gemini Gem, and posed with the All-Star trophy and the Chicago Sky mascot for Pixel-framed prints they took home.
Outcome: The activation drew 200–300 core attendees and 875 total store visitors, more than double the previous Saturday. Critically, it converted: Pixel transactions rose 133% week over week and overall store sales rose 26%. Touchpoints were deliberately spread across the full floor rather than clustered at the entrance, which pushed guests deeper into the retail space and extended dwell time. For visitors who couldn't get to the main Hoop Dreams activation, this became their way in.
