9 activations across 7 stores, March to July 2026. Turning Google's AI into something people can walk into, touch, and take home. Every event in this series put a custom Gemini Gem at its center - mixing drinks, running trivia, shooting headshots, generating trading cards, planning bike routes. The premise held across a music festival, a marathon, a Pride concert, an All-Star weekend, and Comic-Con: when AI is the thing you do rather than the thing you're shown, people stay longer, engage deeper, and buy more.

Concept: A two-part, two-location day built around the Georgetown Business Improvement District's Bike to Work Day, with Google Store as signature sponsor. A morning grab-and-go Pit Stop at the Waterfront caught commuters on their way in; an evening in-store session brought them back. The educational anchor was Ask Maps - a deliberate pivot away from a purpose-built Gem toward an existing Google feature guests could keep using after the event ended.
Outcome: 223 Gemini Gem QR scans, with 173 landing-page visits during the morning activation and another 50 over the following weekend — evidence the interest outlived the tent. Staff read the room early and abandoned the guided self-serve flow for live show-and-tell demos, preserving the educational payload while cutting friction for people mid-commute. 28% of evening in-store attendees were returning morning guests, closing a full-day loop that is genuinely hard to execute. 150 custom totes were the day's most contested giveaway.
